What is AECS?

The Accredited Expert in Consultative Selling professional designation is awarded to a select group of sales performance consultants who complete a rigorous and comprehensive learning program about the art of consultative selling.

To complete the program, an accredited professional invests four to five months in self-study, group meetings, and a Charter Project. In addition, the sales professional demonstrates the commitment as well as the capacity to serve as a trusted advisor to his or her clients.

Clients of AECS® professionals are engaged in building sales organizations that will excel in helping their own clients make decisions. The consumer of the 21st Century is more likely to be an information seeker than at any time in the past, since they have unlimited access to information about products and concepts. Therefore, consumers want someone to help them navigate through all the options and arrive at a sound solution.

The AECS® professional is trained to help sales professionals excel at advice-led selling and employ a client-centered process. In addition, they are highly skilled at diagnosing and correcting the early warning signs that prevent sales professionals from reaching their highest potential as advisors. In addition to knowledge about the consultative selling process, the AECS® professional possesses strong skills in the areas of:

• Knowledge and application of adult learning practices
• Analyzing performance gaps and determining individual potential for growth
• Blended learning methodologies and creating an effective e-learning environment
• Facilitation and consulting skills
• Trends in consultative selling and e-learning that maximize a client’s learning experience

Sharing wisdom is a major objective of the AECS® accreditation program and the haring continues after the formal accreditation program is finished. Accredited professionals participate in an AECS® Knowledge Community that helps them maintain a cutting edge approach to sales performance consulting.
